I purchased some Moneywort a couple of weeks ago, but some of them seem to be dying on the bottom or middle. They just turn dark and get really squishy. Not sure why this one turned out like this in the middle, but it's almost to the top of my 30g and it's getting plenty of light. I was using API leaf zone for a few days but have stopped after I noticed this. I also had a small piece that I planted in the substrate in the front of the tank so I can see it better and it has slowly been dying from the bottom up. Anybody know why this is and what I can do about it? There are a few that still look okay.

Why would you do this? The plant is obviously starving so not giving it nutrients is the worst thing to do.
Depending on your lighting, the plant could be starving from micro nutrients, macro nutrients, CO2 or all three!

In some parts of the tank it is growing great. Just a few that are deciding to die on me. I wonder if they are getting better nutrients on a different part of the tank.

I switched to sand yesterday, so hopefully that will help the plants grow better. I'll also start dosing again to see what results I get.
