I have a female dalmation mollie who has a strange yellowy/orange tint.
She didn't used to look like this so I am presuming it is not normal. Could it be some sort of algae or something else. There is no algae in the tank itself and I do a 25% water change once a week with the gravel cleaner and 2 10% water changes inbetween. I haven't done any water tests today but will do one and put up the results if you require.

There are no male mollies in the tank but I have only had her about 3 weeks so it is possible for her to be pregnant.

Thanx

Can you describe the tint a little bit more?

I have a few fish, that seems to change colors to fit in with the surroundings. I've had black guppies, that went a tank with a lot of driftwood and red rocks, and they changed color. They went to reddish/brown color.

And yes, it is possible she can be pregnant. They can store sperm, and have up to 7 pregnancies without a male.

Algae doesn't grow on fish :D
I've never heard of orange spot deseases on fish or similar ones, but if you crossbreed a dalmation molly with an orange one you will get orange spots on the offspring and your molly may have just had these all along but wern't noticed.
Either if you can get us the ammonia, nitrate and nitrite stats that would be handy

I was thinking she had rubbed it off a plant or something!!

Anyway ammonia is 0 and my other test kits have actually run out! Thought I had some left but am obviously more neurotic about testing than I thought!

It does actually look like part of her colouring but I just assumed it shouldn't be there. I just expected black and white and that's it!!

I will buy more test kits tomorrow and put up the results if they aren't what they should be.

She does not seem subdued in any way, in fact she is such fun to watch she seems to be quite a character (and a bit of a greedy pig if I'm honest!)

I will let you know if there are any changes but would still appreciate any ideas.

Thanx again, can always rely on you guys for answers even if the questions are stupid!!

I started with one dark dalmation mollie and one silver one. Both female. They must have mated before I bought them. Their fry have been some dark dalmation and some silver dalmation. Some are silver with lyre tales and some dark with sailfins. My one silver mollie has gone a dirty -looking colour. Just the faintest tint of yellow. She is healthy so I assume it is a variation of colouring. Hope your fish is ok. I was surprised that there has been such a variety of colour and fin-shapes from two ordinary looking mollies. :)
