Actually it looks ok now no signs of any whiteness or any heavy breath

Give it another day and if no improvement get back to the board.


With a fish having a yellow tinge on its eye.
Turn tank lights out and shine a torch on the fish to see if you can see any yellow golden spots, golden patches, or a gold dusting, golden varnish,.

Hi Guys,

Bad news lost a platty today and i thought things were looking better.

Look at pics below

No visible signs of anything really i had the torch out (with tank lights off) and nothing.
still have fish flicking against decor,equipment and plants
I have 1 adult female platty in upper levels of tank sat in flow and gasping quite quickly through her mouth.
She is very thin around her lower belly not a nice round shape like the others and i never noticed this yesterday although she will readily take food.

Any ideas anyone?

Signs of internal parasites are.
Long stringy white poo or clear mucas poo.
Worm prutruding from the anus.
Being thin or bloated.
Swimming on there sides sometimes.
Enlarged anus to red inflamed anus.
Bent spine sometimes.
Also flukes cause result in weightloss.

The sick platty is reluctant to eat now

Had a look at their poo and some of the platties have long ones with either white or clear sections in it these are only small sections and the rest looks a normal colour.

I would worm your fish with the med as it best to worm fish anyway.
