I just noticed that there is something strange with this fish.
There seems to be an open wound, pink open discoloration on the top of his head only on one side. One of his feelers is missing as well. Could this be a disease, or an infection, bacteria, fungus. Please help!!

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate,and ph.
Sounds like he has a bacterial infection which gouramis are prone too.
Don't like the sound of him losing one of his feelers.
The sore on his head does it hava a circling of white around the edges, or a red edging to it, with a spot in the centre of it.

The LFS has agreed to take this fish back as I bough it only a few days ago. It was the first fish that was put into the tank after a complete fishless cycling!! I have not had time to do new reading on Water Quality since I just started back to work from vacation, and have been extremely busy.
The sore has white around the edges. It seems to be growing a bit every day!!

I am just wondering will this particular malady would affect other fish (livebearers and danios), as I intend on replacing it with these two types.

Now that I looked at it more closely, it just appears as a pinkish sore, no ring of red or white, but just an area of general pinking exposed flesh, where scales should be.

Could this just be a tank related injury??

How does this affect other fish introduced in tank at a later date??

Still bacterial i'm afraid, just do some water changes on the tank and it should be fine.
