Whats wrong with my dolphin?

Hi, I noticed yesterday that my malawi dolphin (H Moorii) has what looks like a piece of stringy tissue hanging out of both sides of his mouth. It doesn't look like cotton wool and it doesn't have a forked end, any suggestions please? I looked in all my books and can't find it. He is eating fine and swimming fine. I have put in esha fungus treatment.

are you sure it is not a torn lip? what else is in the tank and what size is the tank?

Hi, he's in a 240l tank, with A calicos, red empress, yellow labs, rock kribs, c afras, venustus and ps greshaki. It does look like white flaps of skin (hope that makes sense) I haven't added any fish for a while, the only thing I have done is put some new rocks in last week.
