What's With The Fish?

Hi there,
I'm new to the forum.
I am wondering what is wrong with one of my dad's fish.
Originally it has a lively orange colour but the colour now has faded off to a pale orange colour.
In addition, it also has a small lump on one side of its body. What could it be?
Is it that the fish is sick?
It is still able to swim normally though ( not inverted).
By the way, my dad changes the water weekly and feed his fish every morning.
It seems that only one of his fish is having this problem.
What should i do to make the fish well again?
Should the fish be taken out of the tank and be put into a fish bowl by its own?

Can you describe the small lump some more.....

Where is it?
What color is it?
How big is it?
Do you know the breed of the fish it is on?
Does the lump seem hard or soft?
