thanks

there in my shrimp tank and came in on some plants

thing is because its shrimp i have a hard time putting anything in there to kill these things :shout:

i might just have to pull them out when i see them

this tank has its own plants nets etc, nothing comes out of it except shrimp and snails ,so all my other tanks are not infected :good:

I would get them out fast as you said one looks like it has babies inside it.
There is a med called anti crustaceon med by interpet but it will wipe all the benefical bacteria out in the fitler, plus it will kill your strimps.

Is there only strimp in the tank.
You can't pull the leeches off either, the only time you can get them is when there off the host.

just shrimp and snails

there not on the shrimp, there just on the plants and the glass.

never seen any on the shrimp or any dead shrimp for that matter

Shrimp are pretty clean creatures and will pick off any leaches that try to latch onto them. Also because the shrimp have an exoskeleton the leaches don't bother try to feed from them. They just can't get through the shell.

well thats good news then thanks colin

looks like a tank strip down is in order :shout:

sharon

I wouldn't bother strippng the tank and restarting. I would just try to remove any that appear. If they start to build up in numbers then remove the shrimp and dose the tank with copper. Then drain and refill it a couple of times before putting the shrimp back in.
