What's This Plant Doing?

Hi all. One of my plants has (which I hadn't noticed yesterday) branced out across one of my tanks, out of the water and has some strange white spore like stem above the water.

I assume this is some breeding tactic, but wanted to get the all clear as not to danger my puffer. I'm supprized he hasn't attacked it yet.

Looks like a flower stalk to me. What plant is it. Can you take a full tank shot from the front so we can see better.

Cheers for the post buddy, Ive been on google for the last two hours. Turns out it was a Aponogeton Undulatus, and the single stem was as you said. Says nothing about harm so Ill assume its ok. Ill give it a brush and see if them pop up anywhere else. Apparently it may go dorment for a few months now.

Anyhow, lesson learnt.
