I have just recently discovered a small fry in my community tank.

I know that 1 platty (orange) has had 2 batches of young in there. Only 1 survived from first bith & 2 from the second.

A second platty (electric blue) was pregnant but I have not seen any babies (may have aborted but not sure).

Now this mistery fish has appeared. It is about the same size as the 2 (second batch orange platty) fry but seems to be the wrong shape for a platty fry (I have had several batches so am familiar with what the fry look like). It's proportions ar longer & thinner than a platty, dorsal fin is well back towards the tail and it appears to have at least one stripe (dark grey or black), it's body colour sort of pale grey/green see through.

It can't be a neon as the stripe is more or less vertical & colours are totally wrong.
It's not a dwarf gurami as they haven't made a bubble nest & againg the shape is wrong.
Albino cory? no they haven't laid eggs and are still too young I think.
Clown loach? Well that was my first thought as the shape is similar but reading up on them that's out on 3 counts. 1 Too young. 2 Female get v-fat building up to spawning but that never happened. 3 Breeding then is ni-on imposible without special treatment.

There's nothing else in the tank it could be other than one of the plattys.

Sorry, no photos. I struggle to see it as it stays close to the plants and hides a lot.
