What's This Algae Called?

It grows on the glass by the lights (not in the water) and when you wipe it off comes off in brown strings (almost like pulling apart a blade of grass)

it's not furry, it's real slick. i might not clean it off the light this week and see if i can get a good picture of it

String algae? Trying to get pics on google, but there aren't very many good ones to compare to your description.

i'll just let it grow and take a picture then. it's kinda gross lookin' (i think anyways, i hate algae, gives me the willies)
