well i am using the diy method for my mixture but im wondering whats the most yeast i can put in the hagen cannister? i tried to up the yeast for more bubbles from 1/2tsp tp 1tsp and all of a sudden there was a milky white froth coming from the co2 line that clouded my whole tank. i redid at 1/2tsp and alls well but i wanna get a little more co2.thanks

from my experience the milky white buildup can be removed by using water prefilter between your tank and the c02 generator. filters out most of the white sticky stuff serves as a bubble counter too. you could give it a DIY try

Yeah sounds like you need a bubble counter, you can make them diy, its basically as Kenneth Kpe describes, do a google on bubble counters for co2 units and you should find something, and it will prevent it from happening again, if enough yeast got into your tank you could kill your fish.

thanks kenneth kpe and zig.yah i was afraid i would lose the entire population,but everyone survived. i think i cought it very soon after it started. by the way i would like to say that i upgraded from my hobs to a cannister rena xp-1 and my tank never looked the same always kinda murky and just not the same. after i finally made the move back to my aquaclears my tank looks even better than before. i got the rena which was 80 u.s dollars thinking it would cut back on surface agitation and give me better filtration but in my experience i shoulda kept the aquaclears. all my fish even seem to like it better
