100+ gallons for 1 Oscar plus other fishes. You are possibly looking at 120 gallons or so. As for other fish, how about a Pleco?

atleast 75G minimum for a single full grown oscar. 90G is better though. If you want balas then you need to keep them in a group of atleast 6 because they are schoaling fish so your gonna need atleast a 125G+ sized tank for an oscar and a group of 6+ balas (this same requirement goes for tin foils too).

You can try silver dollars with an oscar. the shape of their body seems to make them an unapetizing meal for most fish and as long as they are comparable in size to the o, you should have no worries about them bein a snack. These are schoaling too so atleast 6 need to be kept. 100G+ is neccessary for an o with silver dollars

if you do go ahead with getting the o, keep us informed with pictures, we'd love to hear :good:
