The Chinese Algae Eater grows larger than the Otto, and they are much more aggressive.

Otto is what that catfish is almost always called. People will recognize it by that name.

As for getting Discus for your 48, well the 48 length is good, but the other dimensions are too small to keep discus happpy. They will grow 8" long and that doesn't really give them any room to swim depth-wise, and they can reach a good 8" as well, and really don't get much room in anything under 18"

This is the fish Durbkat means http/www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=35094 they take up very little space and do best in groups so you could easily get 4 in your tank. They prefer mature tanks and often die for no reason.
