Hi there,

what would be the best way to scrub all the algae off the front of the tank. i use a normal scrubber which gets rid of a bit of the dirtyness, but sometimes there is areas of greem which are very hard to scrub off and don't look good to the eye!

can anyone recommend something i could use to make my tank look clean and tidy!

JJ

if you've got a glass tank, you can use a razor blade to scrub off algea

best thing I suggest is a non abrasive chain mesh/but actually plastic type thing we get from the local supermarket. they'll say on package ok for teflon surfaces. actually great for any surface, glass or plastic as they won't scratch but will lift anything. they sell the same thing at the LFS for like $5 AUD, but at the supermarket $1-2 AUD. figures....
Cheers, Xan

I'll second that. Otherwise a good olde 3M scrubber (white) allows you to see clearly if you have been successful.

I bought a Mag-Float , aquarium cleaner, around $10.00 . It's an inside/outside magnetic cleaner. If it comes loose , it floats to the surface.I really had my doubts.
To my surprise it really took off all the algae , even the thick stuff at one end, that I let grow for the Ottos.
I like it , because I don't have to disurb the tank or splash water, like the long handeled cleaning pads. :)

I use mag-floats and the long handled cleaning pads in my tanks, but I use a normal scrubbing spongey thingy that you use for washing up the plates with in my betta tanks.
