My albino cory always lay eggs that are fertilised by a bronze cory, they have always been Infertile until this last batch, they are hatching out as I speak, I have half in a net and the other half in a floating trap... I'm going to wait until later on in the evening to move them all into a larger tub in the main tank as I don't have any spare tanks for them, and there are a lot of infertile white fuzzy eggs left where they currently are so I would like to move them to a clean environment.

My questions are, if anyone can help...

Is an ice cream tub ok for them? I can deck it out with sand, wood and plants, drill holes in the sides, or has anyone else got a better method? I've read they can escape the marina trap and get squashed in the net.

I'm going away for a week on the 10th... I have a lady coming in to feed the animals, how can I instruct her to look after them in the most simplistic way?

My fish always seem to have fry when I'm due to go away!
Thanks in advance,

I have only had one bronze cory fry that I found in my filter after dismantling my tank for moving to australia, but I kept it a small 20l tank half filled, with heater half sand bottom and half bare bottom, for the filter I just used abit of old filter foam wrapped around an air stone with 20% water change everyday, as for feeding you could tell her to crush up flake with the tip of a sharp knife till it is as small as possible and then soak it in water till it sinks, then suck up with syringe and put in tank. Bit if you don't have a spare tank go to asda and get a 20-30 l storage tub our bigger for less water changes as your are going away and the woman may not be willing to temp match and all that other stuff.

Thanks for that... I've bought a tub from tesco and made a mini aquarium in my main tank for them, I haven't included an air stone yet as I need to go out and buy an extra one, but I have drilled holes that are small enough so they can't escape but enough of them so it circulates the water, it's also next to the outlet pipe flow and bubbles, I've added pictures, do you think it's shallow enough for them to get to the surface? They are so small and transparent you can hardly tell that they are there unless they move!

To give an idea of depth the mother cory is at the bottom of the main tank... Middle pic.
Thanks

Mine was in a filter for at least the first month of its life, so I don't think getting the the surface will be a problem aslong as your water is well oxygenated, and I would any it looks fine but when you get back and they are getting a bit bigger as they grow fast, you might want get a 20-30 l storage box aquarium set up for them as it will be a heck of a lot easier to maintain.
