What's My Ph

I bought a ph test kit and it came up light blue - almost the colour your nitrites should be? No colour on my chart matches it. All fish are alive and well.

What is my ph

On my kit the blue colour is either 7.2 or 7.6

That's light green on my chart. Perhaps my chart isn't very good as it goes from light green to dark blue between 7.0 and 8.6? *8.5*

*it only goes up in 0.5 jumps - is that rubbish?*

Which kit have you got? Mine is an API master test kit. On my card for low ph it start with 6.0 which is yellow then 6.4 which is very pale green then 6.6 bit darker green 6.8 green then 7.0 which is a bluey green then 7.2 which is light blue then 7.6 which is a mid blue. Hope this helps.

Yeah, looks like mine is a bit rubbish. It's an Interpret Easy Test. 7.0 is light green and then it goes to 8.5 which is dark blue. Just noticed that it's a Broad Range test that goes from 4.0 to 9.0 in 6 colours!

By yours it sounds like my ph is 7.2 like you said. Phew! Thought I was having strange water readings. Think I'll buy a better test kit. Those master test kits sound like they are better as all my test kits are different makes..
