What's a "regular" make Betta? Do you mean a veil tail, if so then it all comes down to personal opinion and mine is that VTs are much more attracting,

I just bought a vt and he's very attractive. For me it all depends on the betta. I originally wanted a half-moon but they were $13 at petco and $8 at petsmart and they only had one left at petsmart just sitting there. Then there was a dragonscale and 2 regular "male bettas" that started to dance for me. One of the males flared the other danced and the dragon just danced but then some mean lady (jk) stole the one I picked (one of the male bettas) so I took his brother they looked identical just the other had longer fins. Poor guy is prolly in a bowl. I also must find a name for mine.

Oh yeah but in short you don't pick the betta the betta picks you
