I bought some plants a few weeks ago fed them about a week after adding them to tank but last week 2 of them started turning brown and rotting.
Took me ages yesterday after a water change to try get all the bits floating about out the water

What plants are they? There is a very high chance that they are Non Aquatic plants.

But tell us about yout setup. Lights,Tank,Co2,Fert,

besides being true aquatics or marsh plants, many aquarium plants are grown in hydroponic set ups where their leaves are out of water. When they are put into an aquarium the old leaves often die and rot (go brown and mushy) and new leaves start to grow.
Make sure they have light for at least 6 hours per day (preferably more 10-12hours is good).
If you can put some pics up showing us the plants and we can help identify them as marsh plants or true aquatics.
