my brother in law wants to sell his jewel rio 400 plus fluval 404 plus £100 of fish.he wants £350.what do you think i need a bigger tank and someone wants to buy my jewel 240 for £200.i can sell the fluval plus the fish to the guy who wants to buy my tank.

A quick search on Ebay will tell you that none of the Rio 400's sold in the last month. And the listing prices started at £155.

If someone offers you £200 for your Juwel 240, I say take it ! There were Juwel 240 tanks on eBay in the last month that sold for as littl as £123.55

I paid £250 for my Rio 400 & it came with a load of bogwood & lots of bits.
I have a car large enough to shift one in though!
What tanks fetch is often a case of where they are but £250 is probably about right for a rio 400 in showroom condition ( or near as) - what are the fish worth - depends what they are and if the buyer wants them.
Carriage is always a problem with tanks as is having people who can lift larger tanks.
