What's He Doing?

I've just released a new male guppy into my biorb. He's the only male in there, and the only guppy, too.
I released him and he swam to the back, where he then 'pecked' at the anal fin of my mickey mouse platy. Is he trying to mate with her? I'm really unsure, seeing as they're different species.
Will he stop doing it or will he harass her continually? There are 7 other girls in there (8 girls altogether) so I hope that even if he is trying to mate, it will be unsuccessful anyway and he'll divide his attentions.
Any help will be very appreciated!

That is what the males normally do when they try to mate..
If thats the case they normally try to keep going until the female is tired out proving they are worth to mate with.. so I'd say watch him for a couple days and if hes still doing that then most likly hes always going to. But he might switch from one girl to another.
