Hey guys,

just gone over to check tank and feed the little guys some blood worm and somethings not right....

Heater looking a bit grim has sort of dull white look to it light gone off and weird build up of frofhy (spelling!)
whiteish bubbles around top of it.
looks like water may be inside heater glass - i can see bubbles building up.

any ideas what has happened?? what to do? electricity scares me checking here before touching anything!!

can anyone advise? i dont wanna go to bed and leave it - without knowing whats up,

should i turn everything off dont want to leave heater, filter etc turned on if there is a leak somewhere

Sounds like it might be leaking. Switch it off and leave it for 15 minutes before removing it and get a new one tomorrow.
What kind of fish do you have and is the tank in a warm room? It shouldnt get too cold.

thanks black angel!

Ok ive turned heater off, should all other electric componets be ok ie should i leave light and filter connected while leaking heater is still in tank??

Yeh my flat is roasting always hot in here so will be fine tonight ill pick up another tomorrow.

actually i have a small hex tank running on same size heater which is total overkill (pet shop sold most expensive of course) so i miight just put that in and buy smaller heater for small tank!!

thanks ill sleep easy now!! phew

oh p.s i have a plec, 2 bala's, 3 gouramis, 3 guppys, 2 angels in tank

I's it hot in scotland, as if so it shouldn't be too bad, while you get a filter tomorrow, just cover the tank with a blanket to keep the heat in.

Youve got a lot of big fish for small tanks as well, hope you know how big those balas and angels get too.

Hot in scotland!!

16c is a heatwave
