Whats Beneficial Of Water Changes If Ammonia, Nitrite, And Nitrates Ar

I am about to move in a week and was thinking;

take 50% of water out(dirty water) dump it
save the rest
get to new house and pretend its a water change
its a cichlid tank not fully setup yet
cycled as predator tank then converted to cichlid

its a 65 gallon tank and was just wondering what would be the best way to move it as well?
