Whats A Hardy Algea Eater

Thankyou. Its a 10 gallon and looks nothing like that now. That was it at its best. Have stripped it bare as I was bored and fancied a change + donated all my fish to the one at the school where I work. Waiting to set up a dwarf puffer tank, getting married has rather put things on hold at the mo.

:good:

congrats about getting married. i had a green spotted puffer and they realy are full of personality. 1 think i neede to have a suply of was snails to keep its teeth from over growing.
goodluck

Otos are good algae eaters maybe even slightly better than a bristlenose but they are not well known for being hardy and need excellent water conditions.

:good:

i'd say plecos. common plecs are amongst the most hardy ones imo but they get huge

What sort of algae are you trying to get rid of?

Different fish eat different types of algae, so it's best to identify the algae first.

Paul

Bristlenoses are pretty hardy, but in my opinion do not make for the best algae eaters.

Malaysian trumpet snails are good grazers, although you will need hundreds to make a difference.
