im looking for 1, 2, or 3 somewhat big fish with a lot of personality. And a fish that is somewhat easy to take care of and not too sensitive to water. I have a 55 gallon chichlid tank. Do you thinnk i could have 2-3 convicts, or some kind of chichlid because i like them a lot, any ideas are helpful. Thanks

You're post says '25 gallons or less'

The less part is important. Is it 25 gallons, or is it 20, or is it 10?

If it's 25 you can do a pair of convicts (remember, these cichlids are monogomous - you need an established pair. they will also kill any tankmates you try, once they breed)

You can also do a pair of kribs, rams, apistogramma, and your choice of a large number of Tanganyikan cichlids.

if you can for sure be very happy with just one or two fish, check out the puffers! most are quite energetic and the smaller species are typically quite hardy.

betta

i always say just get a betta

lol

I'd actually go for the puffers.
Never had them but I think they're SO adorable!

For a 25g you could do 5 dwarf puffers, which would be cute.

Why not divide it and do a couple of bettas?

German Blue Rams are also a good idea.. a pair with a school of tetras would do nicely in a 25g.
