I've had my betta Ares for practically a year. Around november he started getting cauliflower disease. It got worse, but he didn't have a problem with it. Now it sicks out a good few centimeter and I'm concerned, I don't think he's living a quality life. He eats but he's starting to swim less. I think it may be his time to go. What do you think?

EDIT: Messed up pole. POST if you think I should do it.

If he is still eating then I think you should keep trying to make him better, obviously if he stops eating and has given up on living himself should you only intervene. Although I believe in letting nature take its course, unless its very distressing! You should keep treating him and find some advice from the forums or a professional. I am sorry to hear of your bettas ailment I hope he gets better.

I've been treating since Nov but now the growth is enormous. He usually just sits in a corner. He eats, but he's old and he hasn't really been happy for a long, long while.

If he is not happy and is starting to have trouble swimming, I unfortunatly would let him go. I had a betta once with a benign tumour, he lasted not long, until it got to bad for him because it was right on top of his face in between his eyes. Just be sure to do what you belive is right. As you know how old he is approxiamatly and how he is dealing with it really. If treatment has not helped, then I would say there is no other way to help him. However it is your choice in the end. That is just my opinion. Good Luck with your decision! :good: Sorry this has come to this possibly!

It sounds to me like it might be time to let him go...Of course, it is your decision and do what you feel is right. Sorry about your betta. Good luck.
