Well.

We did it.

So is this what it looks like. Rio 180 in dark wood finish.

Am I way off? I want a natural-ish look. It's all cloudy and bubbles everywhere and since the photo half the vallis has floated off. I want some more foreground plants as well. But am I going in the right direction?

Thanks.

It looks GREAT to me. Love the natural looks. What's gonna go in?

that looks great! but.. i think the peice of drift would is a little distracting may need to be put more twords the back? i dont want to sound like a total butt saying that... but oh well... lol... but yeah.. otherwise i say it looks great! :good:

Its really only distracting if you think about it, like I looked at the pic and didnt even see it then read your post and couldnt take my eyes off of it. lol great tank by the way, Needs more plants to give it that extra natural look.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

The wood is, I think, bogwood. My uncle gave it to me about 20 years ago when he gave up fish, along with a tank with metal corners that leaked! We kept the wood but dumped the tank. I've boiled it and had it soaking for about a month - ever since we decided to get a new, bigger tank - and it's only just stopped turning the water deep brown! Iwant some foreground plants to go in front of it but couldn't get any this weeekend. I hope those will make it less distracting.

The fish going in are danios, white cloud mountain minnows and otos from the 10gal which will be cleaned up to be a quarantine / hospital tank. I can't wait because it's got a bad case of slime algae. If it wasn't for the new tank I think I'd have to strip it down anyway.

I indend to get more danios and WCMM for the new tank, along with corys, hariquin rasboras, rosy barbs and maybe kuhli loaches and japonica shrimp. I like little fish!

Hi. :)

Tank looks really nice.

Add more plants to the front of the tank like that spiral grass and also some plants in between the rocks so that it looks like its growing out of them.Your tank will look much better but at the moment its already stunning!!!

Well done!!! :good:
