This post is inspired by i dream i had last night and from past thoughts.

Ive been wanting to visit Japan for some years to visit Buddhist temples and amazing Japanese/Zen gardens, i just love the way the Japanese do things, when they do it they do it properly and i love the Japanese zen philosophy which is revolved around the aliments of nature which links to the way a zen garden is put together.
From that Ive been interested in Amano for some years now but its only since Ive got the Internet that i find more and more about the man and the way he creates his amazing aqua-scapes.
Ive learned that he has a nature aquarium gallery in Niigata Japan, i also know when its open, how to get there and that its free to get in :good: .
So one day i really hope i can afford to take a Holiday to Japan and visit the nature aquarium gallery.

I got thinking ( this bits in my bizzar dream) that imagine if i was in the gallery and who should take a stroll around looking over things........... Mr Amano him self :hyper: , what the hell would you say  i know theres allot but how do you strike up a conversation?. Bizarrely in my dream he has a Yorkshire twang to his Japanese accent :S .

So here it is, if you where in this make believe situation with the great Mr Takashi Amano 1) how would you strike up a conversation as he strolls by ( remember he has a Yorkshire/Japanese accent :D ) and 2) what would you ask him????

Interesting post Moody and very strange dream! I think you need to put the liquid fert down and step away from the planted tank!

Wouldn't have the first clue what to say! I guess you know about it photography background? Could talk for hours just on that! Let alone his aquariums!

Could also ask him if he runs courses and/or ever has an apprentice, how cool would that be!! To be his apprentice!

Sam

I wonder how he did plant that tank? He must have literally jumped in!

He didnt, but five of his friends did! There is thread with more pics on here somewhere, but its 12midnight and I'm going to give up trying to find it :S

He never answered any of my questions directly, a joke or uneasy resonses:)
I tend to ask things that others are scared to ask but are thinking.
Opinionated? Yes. Honest? Yes.
I don't put clients nor anyone on a pedestal, I treat them like I treat anyone else.

He's a nice guy and has the hobby at heart as well as the environment. He's got a nice demeanor and a good sense of humor and likes TN Whiskey. He's not going to be a tech type of guy for talks, he's more the artists and photographer.

You might not voice your dreams though
Got me a bit worried there :D

Regards,
Tom Barr

If I was strolling through the gallery and saw him I'd stop, raise my arm and point at him. Then I'd say in a loud voice

'Hey look. It's that guy from Yorkshire who's named after a shrimp!'

Then I'd have a short conversation with the security staff.

Nice one!!!! :D

From what im aware, he has a collage dedicated to the concept of nature aqaurium, that would be very very cool to be part of.

Graeme.

:ninja: where's my chop sticks, ganna catch me some flies!!!

I think i would like to ask him about how he started his business from scrach, how he went about it and managed to end up with his own line of superior aqaurium products and to get the oportunity to create his nature aquarium gallery.
It strikes me that he may have come from a wealthy back ground to have the suport to start up his business.
Id like to know what he has sacrificed to get to the status hes is now.

did someone say the apprentice? YOUR FIRED! On a serious note, i would ask him to come to my house and sort my tank out, long shot i know, but you never get anywhere without trying.
