Well as some of you know I may be evicted by landlord because of bad conditions of the apartment and wanted to know what you guys would do in my situation.

I said to tell what you voted on and why remember so you people that voted tell what you voted on and why. :p

Bag the fish individually, or if they're small enough, in groups and leave some water in the tank. Best way to do it IMO. The substrate, decorations and filter need to be kept as moist as possible, preferably with the mature tank water. It will lessen the cycling troubles.

Once I get the tank to the new place and put the water, gravel, filter, and heater back in the tank won't cycle again will it?

Really depends on how long the filter is off and how well you keep the bacteria wet. Especially those in the filtration media. Ideally, you won't have to cycle but worse comes to worse, you may get a minicycle.

take some of the water and bag it up to cycle the tank and keep madia in the bags wet! dont forget strees coat for the fish and some typpe of enzyme grower.

the tank should be emptied totally
I have sold many new tanks to people that were moving theirs, left the gravel in and picked up the tank leaving the bottom where it was.

as for the fish they should be bagged and the bags should be placed in a poly box. the box will retain the temp and keep the fish in the dark.

I voted "other"

For starters, I wouldn't individually bag the fish, I'd species bag them (one bag of black fins, one of red eyes, one of x-rays, one of corries, and a plec bag). The tetras/corries will be much happier in with their mates than sloshing about on their own. I strongly advise you do this.

What you don't say is how far you'll be moving. If it's over an hour tank to tank, then come back as you'll need to revise the condions under which you must transport the fish.

The rest is personal preference: I would get the 55 set up in advance at the new place with brand new gravel and plants, and filled with water. This is a great opportunity to get your new tank set up as you want it instead of hotch-potched from other bits.

Then I'd move all the fish from your 20 & 10 tanks (treated exactly as Wolf says), along with the filters and heaters from both tanks (the fish don't look incompatable at all), and whack them all into the new 55. Bear in mind heating the water too, don't chuck them all into a 55G ice bucket. Consider this as a priority, you could do with the temperature being acceptable when you arrive at the new place. Acclimatise the fish properly too, don't just pour them in.

Move the bettas in their tanks with half the water removed- those little pint pots shouldn't have a problem with the weight (take out any decor if you're worried).

Then I'd move the other two tanks at my leisure, completely empty, and thoroughly clean them (and the gravel), before positioning them as I wished in the new home.

what would i do??

wait until I know if it'll be happening at all before posting 27 different posts about it :grr:

Yeah what fish_keeper2 said. I don't want to not know anything then when the day of the move comes I wouldn't know how to move everything correctly and I could have lost fish if I didn't ask here. So chill out and if you have a problem with me being attached to my fish and want to be prepared in case I have to move then simply don't read my topics about it or go to the board suggestions section a start complaining about how I want to be prepared and let me watch you get laughed out of that section of the forum.

OK...

Took it a bit personal didnt you... Its just that there are MANY ways of finding information the easiest and quickest would be to use the search function.

I'm sure the land lord will give you notice if you need to vacate... as i understand it from another of the threads you have only heard from word of mouth that you might need to move out IF the building gets condemmed!! speak to the land lord before you start to worry about anything. If they say that there is a need to move out, at this point you could search on here for all the answers....

I'd be a bit more worried about being homeless that getting worked up about moving fish in a hyperthetical situation.

You seem to post first and think later... its not a major issue and i didnt want to come across too rude (slightly miffed - yes) sit back and look at the situation logically and you'll be able to work out most of the details yourself....

Chill and enjoy xmas... then IF you have to start thinking about this...

Sorry. Do you think I could set up my 55g or should I wait till I get more info from the land lord?

I wouldnt wait for the info to get to me - I'd speak to the land lord and get some answers...
