what wattage do u recommend???

ive got juwel rekord 120L tank that is 39" by 14" and want to get a more suited light for it.
but im not sure what wattage etc to get.
There is no live plants in there and around 28 fishes (see signature)
can anyone help?

If you don't have any plants, you shouldn't get high-wattage lights - you will only be competing with algae more frequently...

Get the bulb that will bring out the colors of your fish the best - for me personally, I like the Hagen Aqua Glo or Power Glo. I tried those 10k temperature bulbs from the hardware store, and I still don't like it as much as these bulbs designed for aquariums. Anything cooler gives serious yellowness which is awful.

How tall is your tank? If it is around 18 inches, 30w should be enough.
