What Was This

i was looking at my fish (twice this has happened now) i saw a big black thing (size of bloodworm) with like whoite fluffy stuff on its head
what was this i got it in the net and killed it?

Sounds like a midge pupa, the fish will normally eat them. They are the stage in between the bloodworm and insect.

Fella was probably going to suggest it might be a livebearer fry - perhaps with a fungus or bacterial infection - that you caught sight of and didn't recognise for what it was. I'm pretty sure it was the midge larvae now though.
