sorry to hear about ur children , i have 2 oscars with 2 chocolate cichlids and 1 firemouth, the oscars are big babys as well lol, but they never like the severum so had to take it out.

the bigger convict does chase the rainbow but it is has alot of hideing places and no harm to any fish,
ive been told that rainbows can go with oscars

You know, if all oscars were like my old one, I'd agree rainbows would be ok - as my oscar was a big baby He was scared of the silver dollars we had! Mind you, the tiger oscars I've seen are far from calm - always really grumpy, mine was a red and he had a lovely temperament.

And no worries about the replies - sorry I didn't reply to your pm (hence posting on here) it's just I've got two triplets down with the croup, one of which has decided coughing isn't enough and has taken up puking at the same time...

I once remember being so ill as a kid... i puked so much my mum puked while she was cleaning it up... so never once complained. that is love huhs?

Not totally sure but an emerald Cichlid is similar to an Oscar but slightly less aggressive and a tad smaller.

yes the " chocolate cichlid " the common name, i have 2 with 3 oscars.
