Perth, as in the capital of western australia?

I read that you're from WA. Which store are you going to? Veba's? I'll give you an indication to what sort of cories I saw when I last visited. Pandas, Zygatus, Rabauti, Pepper, Trilineatus(labelled Julii), Sterbai, Bronze. They use to have barbatus but I don't remember seeing any last time I went.

There are some rare cories available to order from Deep Blue Aquaria, I recently was emailing him regarding cories and the cories he has in stock are:
Bronze
Axelrodi - Deckeri
Caudimaculatus
Davidsandsi
Elegans
Julii
Leopardus
Leucomelas
Matae
Naponensis
Neon Green
Neon Gold
Panda
Puntatus
Robinae
Similis
Sterbai
Albino Sterbai
Undulatus
Weitzmanni
Zygatus
Peppered

From the Corydoras Convention, there was talk about a new species. I know Coryologist (Frank) is getting some at $50 per fish. Info at:

Mod's edit: You know better than to post links to another forum when the same information is available right here at TFF. -_- I have changed the link you posted to that one.

Thats an Orange Laser, which is a colour morph of the bronze corydora (Corydora Aeneus) They are more expensive than the standard bronze. No very rare, but then I've only seen them once near me.

hope thats helps.

TBH, going with the rarest as your first foray into cory keeping probably aint the best idea. If they are rare and unnamed like the ones frank got, then that means theres very little known about them and their watery needs. Could end up being a costly excercise if they all fall over within a week :()

yep thats right perth its like a 5 hour drive from where i live my brother lives there so i go there about 5 times a year to say hi  ...........i cant rember the name of the perth pet shop i will find out i just rember first time i saw it i could not bleave how many fish they had mind you i live in a small town near albany and dont go ro many citys but it looked big :good: as for them maby dieing at it being a wast of money i plan on reading as much as i can from now till then on cory and i am willing to risk money on corys cuz they look realy neat and i mean the only thing i need money for is a new car lol and it will be risk any time if theres not that much info but trying is fun as well and the pride of geting the baby fry at the end of the hard work is a nice feeling ....Kuhni sounds like u no a bit about the cory i may find there hmmm looks good im half a sleep at the moment so later i will look up alll the ones u put in the list there thanks oh how would they rate in how rare they are ?hmmm sound like Coryologist was lucky to get some realy cute cory ....i will be going in alittle befor December so i guess it will be very lucky if any are there but i will look ...the
Topic has attachmentsCatfish Convention 2006 sounds coool i wish i could go to one of them its to far for me ...starts makeing a list to take to check in shop for :shifty: if get some thing realy good i will keep peepl updated on if they look like breeding or if its one thats has not much info on it will be if its still liveing  thanks for all the info so far hope to hear any surgestens

erm... you do realise that rare usually means that there is little or NO information about them, yet...

so you cant read up on them, lol.

yes i kind of got that it would be very hard if it was a realy rare kind but i think theres 3 things that i must rember when thinkling about this kind of thing first off its still a cory so evan if there are difrents things about its needs and the realy big stuff should be rownd the same as some of the typs of wild cory that can be found near where they have found this rare kind you are trying to take care of ...cuz if its from a near by place it would be grewing with the same kind of conditions and would have been feeding on some of the same stuff 2 it will still be hard but if you dont try you will never get better at any thing and 3 if i get into truble or if i just feel like talking about them there are a fair few peepl on here who seem to no lots on cory and evan if it a new kind some peepl will have had them befor me like Coryologist has just got a new kind and evan if i end up with that sort but i think that is probly one that the store would not be ordering at the moment but if they did by the time i go to buy the new cory from the shop Coryologist would have been looking after his for some time unlesss they all die on him but i think that probly wont happen so the way i see it as long as i try realy hard its a risk i want to take .....if i get a realy rare kind i will ask for help when i get back on any or little info...........its hard to realy tell on here how much you find you can care about fish the more i find out the more i want to no and this site with all its info and storys about the cute little cory fish is makeing think about breed for the pet store near me cuz that mean i can have them breed as much as they like cuz the pet store will take as many as i give them ......thanks for the warning ........bronze cory are rare ? that cant be right they were the first kind i ever got and i got 7 of the for free ?

i thort i would add what typs i have at the moment 2 sterbai the albino strain of it ....i asked as well for the normal sterbai and im shore the guy thort they were but now they are bigger im near shore they are Corydoras haraldshultzi i had 2 of them but as u no a few days ago 2 cory died one was a bronze and the other a haraldshultzi i have 2 Corydoras schwartzi i had 7 bronze now 6 ......apart from the bronze ones i got them all at the shop i was talking about they had other typs there as well but i was not there for cory that time rownd ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................(do u think the Neon Green cory is the same as the emerald_green one just asking cuz im looking them up on the net now)

I imagine your native tongue isn't british? either that or you dont know what full stops (periods) and commas are :D

well you seem set to get them, so go ahead and as you say, I'm sure someone can help. ;)

Emerlad Green Corys
they aren't corydoras, they are Bronchis, simialr but grow much bigger

right then the Neon Green and the Neon Gold corys were the only ones i could not find pics of in that list ............................oh and  funny thing is you were more right with the ... either that or you dont know what full stops (periods) and commas are ... then you think u were i no this may make me sound stupied but i suck at spelling and full stops (periods) and commas  its sad but peepl often think i must be from japan or some where that english is not used

the neons you speak of are probably gold or green lazers. There are lots of pics around and if you want hard to find and easy to keep, these would be a good bet. Not overly expensive and require the same care as C.Aeneus (both bronze and albino)

As for going for the really rare corys, i know over here of one place that sells full size adult weitz's at £75.00!! thats alot of money to spend to play with LOL.

Oh, and try keep them in groups of 6 or more of their own kind, they will do much better in these numbers :)

I have orange lazers haha! they where expensive! but so pretty!

orange lazers look realy nice but i dont think the store would have them i hope they do ...
