What Types Of Wood Is Recomended For Aquariums?

I have an idea that I would like to try for my aquarium. Im wanting to add a branch into it. I have an idea for the branch but would rather show it once it is complete. So what types of wood is safe (U.S. common woods if possible).

other than those most wood is ok provided it is not still 'green'
IE it has no sap left in it.

there are some that are toxic as they break down, like Ebony, Mahogany
and ceder to name a few.
