i was just wandering those of you who use salt in your tanks, what type do you use, or what would be best? that you would recommend?

Make sure you have fish that all will do well with salt first. You should get aquarium salt if you do find out it will work with all your fish. The theory is that the salt neutralizes the effects of nitrates on fish somewhat. It's not necessary, but for certain fish, like Mollies, you'll want immaculately clean water without it. Other fish and animals, such as shrimp, snails, and even plants, will not do well with salt at all.

i have just mollies in my tank at the moment im using aqualibrium (think i spelt that correctly lol) they do fine with this salt i was just wandering if maybe marine salts maybe better for them????? or do they all do the same thing!!

Marine salt will create brackish water, which is ideal for mollies. You'll need to keep that in mind though when it comes to tankmates.

how much marine salt would you recommend for mollies? it wouldnt need to be a salty as marine water would it? i use aqualibrium and whenever i do a water change i only ever add 2 tea spoons of it back in, thats what my mollies are used to if i had to increase how would i go about it, as i believe you can put your fish in some sort of shock if you add too much at any one time is this correct? thanks for your replies
