Bumblebee gobies need brackish, and won't work. Cherry barbs need to be in groups of 6+, so a single one won't work either. And zebra danios really need bigger tanks, as they are very active fish. I would go with

10x Glowlight Tetras
12x Lemon Tetras
2x Kissing Gouramis
1x Bristlenose Pleco

I was under the impression kissing gouramis need a larger tank?

That's a lot of fish! I'd leave out the Zebra Danios, Bumble Bee Goby & the Kissing Gouramis. Kissers get to be 10 inches long you realize.

I'd do a stock like:

(1) Dwarf Gourami

(8) Lemon Tetras

(8) Glowlight Tetras

(6) Cherry Barbs (3 Pair)

(1) Bristlenose Pleco

Then you could try adding a couple of female Dwarf G's down the road

Good list but Kissers get waaaay too big for a 30 gallon tank, a 55 is pushing it. It's also very hard to distinguish male & female so you very well may have a pair of males that want to kill each other!

If he/she like Gouramis they could try Dwarf, Honey, or even Pearl G's. A couple of female Thee Spot (Blue) G's could work as well.

Thanks for the replies I will have to have a rethink obviously lol

sounds good that i like it

Good :), its weird because when i first started i aways assumed they were one of the smaller centrepiece fish, don't know why :)
I know cherry barbs need shoals but do they actually pair up and need equal number of male and female?

PS. Make sure your filtration is up to the task (with the bristlenose and all :) )

Would a red tailed shark be too aggressive for a happy tank with quite a few small fish? :hey:

I once had a red-tail and he was not too bad but did chase other fish and you might not be as lucky as to get a nice one, i wouldn't risk it.

Filter is an interpet PF3 ?

I wont place any fish in before reading into things on here a lot more and ask advice :good:

I love the new tank and cant wait till I get a few more fish in but just got to be patient :shout: these smileys are ace !

I once ran a 110 litre tank with an interpet pf4. I had various tetras, a bristlenose plec and some bronze corys. Filter wasn't ideal but it did cope ok.
