i am looking to buy a 125L juwel rio tank(cannot afford 180L anymore) and want to stock 5 angelfish of different colours. will they get on and can any one recomend a bootom feeder that isnt over the moon expensive?

thanks tom

I believe (tho not 100% sure) that Angelfish will pair off, so it you have a "spare" the others may become aggressive towards it. They are also quite territorial.

Any bottom feeder should get along with the Angels, first suggestion you be Corydoras if you wanted a smaller fish as well as Otocinclus (tho they will require a matured tank and stable water conditions). There are also variants of the Pleco family that don't grow too big. I saw an extremely good looking Snowball Pleco that was coming in at £30.

I guess it depends on want you concider "expensive". ;)

I think corydoras would be your best bet as they both come from the same habitat- the amazon.

For Plecs, i'm not too sure but if you didnt want anything expensive then a Bn plec would be best, they also live in groups and are sociable with each other so they may be a good choice

Good luck on your decision!

In a 125Litre really your only looking at one adult Angel or one established pair,

Yes, I agree with Davo, I have the rio 125L and used to have 1 angel in it.

The 125L is really about minimum size that angels should be kept in so I too would only recommend 1-2 max, they can pair off so an odd number isnt recommended and 4 would be ok for a while but would be a bit of a squeeze when they start to grow.

As for bottom feeder I'd recommend 1 Bristlenose plec and 6 corys (sterbai corys would look nice)
