what to put in a 1 x 1 x2 ft tank what many guppies can go in there

How many gallons is that, about 10?

If so, I'd go for a trio (1 male, 2-3 females) or if you want all males, 5-6 males. If you get males and females, do you have a plan for fry? :)

i have not seen the tank yet   she just said its 1x1x2 ft haveing prob with breeding so just want males in there
can i put 2 male guppies & 3 sliver tips in there

If you want male Guppies, 5 seems to be the magic number for aggression. With two, one will overpower the other and can make his life miserable. Same with three, only two gang up. You might be able to keep 5 Tetras and 5 Guppies in there, if it really is 15g, but you'd have to keep up with the water changes and filtration.

I'm not sure how nippy those kind of Tetras are though...so make sure they won't nip at the tails of the males, as they are usually prime targets.

i have some fry just showing colour & i think they are male
so by the time the tank is ready for fish i should have some more males
what the max males i can put in there

how about 5 guppies & 3 sliver tips what do you think

Silver tips are schooling fish, so you need at least 5. So I'd say no.

The max males I would put in there, if it is indeed a 15g, would be 6-7. You'd need lots of hiding places and decorations so they can get away from each other and have their own territories.

i have got 3 sliver tips in my tank for 1 yr & they seem fine
should i get 2 more silver tips

you could get a maximum of 24 guppys in there.
24"x12" = 228 divided by 12 = 24
this rule only appys to 1" fish
__"x__" divided by 12

...

i disagree. that's way too many fish for a tank that size. do you know how large 12 square inches is? take a 3x5 index card. cut an inch off one end. that's less lateral space than the worst betta tanks! additionally, an adult male guppy is closer to an inch and a half than just one inch.

guppies are also not schooling fish and compete intensely for territory, food, and mates. thus, 24 neons might could be happy with the rule you just mentioned, but 24 male guppies would feel overcrowded. i'd stick with the "gallon per inch of fish" guideline instead.
