A couple of months ago I had a batch of dodgey neons which wiped out 70% of my tank stock which along with whatever disease they had (I'm thinking neon disease) made my parameters go nuts.
Anyway, time has gone and the remaining tankmates (see sig) are happy once again, parameters are fine along with 7.5ph.
I'm a bit reluctant to go for neons again as they caused the problem in the first place. Saying that it is nice to have a shoal of 10-15 (currently have 4!)
My questions are
1) If I'm to re-stock my neons would you suggest buying in stages i.e. say two or three lots of 1/2 dozen over a period of a month or two or would you put 10 or so in at once?
2) I'm open to suggestions as to what other fish could be introduced into the tank - I've had gourami's in the past and they've done well but fancy something different.
3) I definately do not overfeed my fish (mainly my pl*cos) but my algae problem has remained - any suggestions (furry black stuff on plants and green film on glass) - both my L's just sit on the bogwood all day (which is nice and clean!!!!) but don't seem to get very far on the glass!
Cheers
