I got money for my report card and I would like to buy a new aquarium with it. I had got 120 dollars but I spent some. What I have left is 81 dollars. What could I get for a aquarium with this amount of money? :)

Well here i could get a 48x15x15 for £50 and then a hood for £20. Heater £10 and pump £20. Bit over budget but just an idea

A small cheaper one... from walmart.

Does anyone know the approx. amount of money a 15 gallon aquarium kit is from petco? I was thinking about getting that, sand, drift wood, and live plants. Would that work? I am also getting a gift card for petco for christmas so it would be more than 81 dollars that I would have. :)

Wait till boxing day... lots of places will have good deals on boxing day..

You should get more bang for your buck if you can get out to some pet stores on that big day.

After Christmas there should be some good sales. I am going to wait till after to take that great shopping trip! I love going shopping for my tanks!!! :)

You should be able to get the tank (just the tank) for about a buck a gallon off of craigslist or ebay. Look into spending at least four times that on lights, hood, filters, susbstrate, pumps, and heater. So that's a 15 gallon tank. You might be able to get away with a 20. Caigslist is your friend, here. I got a complete 20 high, filter, substrate, lid, heater, excellent air pump, and 8 fish all for $50. Unfortunatley, I needed to get a 50 gallon to house the fish, but the point is that there are deals to be found if 1) you're willing to look and 2) you're willing to wait for them to come up.

By the way, US$ 1 = 0.512085211 UK£.

I'd personally use the money for upgrading filtration, changing decor, more fish, more heaters, more shells for my shell dwellers etc.

do u have something like free ads there?
where you could look for someone whos already selling one which is set up with equipment and maybe fish aswell....or look on ebay.....most of my tanks have come from friends giving up the hobby :good:

Well my friend has a 30 gallon just sitting around in her garage gathering dust. It's a shame it has to go to waste... :)
