Hi guys,

I was just wanting to get your opinions on what the next fish I should get.

I have a 20 gallon tank with 4 Cardinal Tetras, 3 Zebra Danios, and a male Dwarf Gourami in it so far. It's fairly well planted with 5 live plants and I have a couple cool lava rocks in there as well. The plants are all real aquatics as I returned the fakes I got from Petco.

I haven't had the tank too long and I added the Danios and Gourami on Monday, so I'm not planning on getting anything for a little while, but I still would like to plan ahead for the new additions.

What would you guys suggest as my next fish? I was thinking an algae eater or two with something else that was a little more full looking. I like the tetras and the danios but they're really small.

Any and all input is welcomed.

Maybe adding about 4 cory catfish is a good idea. they can take care of the food that sinks to the bottom. I saw albino corys at the LFS today and they looked kinda creepy; I like those :D They look like ghosts :hyper:
Also you may want to research these as well: Serpae Tetra (check if they are compatible with other tetras), glowlight tetra, bleeding heart tetra, or neons (kida look like cardinals, right? :/ )

Good luck with your tank.

You should get more Cardinals, they are shoaling fish and like to be kept in greater numbers than 4.. perhaps add another 6?

Ever considered a form of loach as a bottom feeder? Kuhli Loaches don't grow that big, are great fun and keep the tank REALLY clean.. just make sure your filter intake isn't too appealing to them, otherwise they end up creating some bacteria for u when they get themselves stuck in there and die..

Bristlenoses are always a solid choice for algae eaters. but if you're looking for a bit of variety - why not cherry shrimp? with a bit of java moss, they will flourish! bright red little guys scampering everywhere! great fun those lot!

Good luck with your tank mate
