What To Feed My Crabs?

recently added three little red crabs to my collection do they have any special dietry needs what do they eat what do i feed them ?

frozen cockles (?)
let them thaw before feeding.

they prefer more meaty type foods rather than flake, so a good supply of a few frozen type foods would be good.

ok however ive got ghost shrimp as well will they not just eat whatever i throw in

not if u sink the food next to the crabs, and sink enough off it so the crabs can get enough.

I'm not familiar with the crabs and how big they get but most crabs will kill small fish and shrimp, especially at night when the lights are out.

Crabs tend to be scavengers more than actual hunters.

well i chucked in a worm from the garden tonight and one of the crabs loved it he was eating the whole worm to himself the other two didnt seem to interested but i chucked in another worm just in case

Crabs tend to be scavengers more than actual hunters.

They will definitely scavenge but if a small tetra or ghost shrimp happens by, they will grab it. It's just a natural thing for them.

With all the contaminants, pesticides, weed killers, fertilizers, etc. in the ground, that could be a major issue. I wouldn't ever put something like that in one of my tanks.

i do it all the time for the shrimp i also throw in a snail from time to time the fish love em

Actually, I'd say it's very likely he does use them. Most everyone I know uses some type pesticides in their gardens to keep the beetles, cut worms, etc. from eating the plants and vegetable. If he uses any kind of fertilizers for his plants, those could also be harmful.
