I have 16 baby fish in my breeding net, i am still not quite sure what they are but i think they are guppies and there is 1 baby platy in there as well.

They are around 6-7 weeks old, i started feeding them on liquifry at first and then i moved them onto tubifex, when can i let them out? i read on the internet afew weeks ago that they can be let out after 8 weeks, i only have peaceful little fish in my tank so i dont think that they would be eaten, i am considering taking them out in the next week or two.

I don't use a breeding net or anything else. The fry find hiding places in the gravel and plants, and I've never had any problem with all of them being eat. I have more of a problem with an abundance of them. :D Puffer food now, baby!

hi,
if you think they wont be eaten and you have hiding places i would let them out right now,
keeping 16 fry in the net can stunt the growth, all the best with them, donna :)

I have let out some of the fish (around eight) i let out the bigger ones and i will let the others get a big bigger first, the ones that i let out look really small compared to the other fish but there is not any aggressive fish in my tank they are all livebearers and corydoras and plecos so i cannot see them being eaten.
