What to do w/extra Guppy Grass

I have a 20 long with a large/deep chunk of guppy grass that floats on one side of the tank. I feel like there is less room for my leopard danios to race around like they used to so I took a chunk out. What can I do with the extra guppy grass? How can I “store” it in case I want to put it back or use more later? I only have one tank and don’t want another tank to maintain. Does it need sunlight, moving water, etc? I have big jars with lids I can put it in. Any advice?

You could try a glass jar with access to sunlight. I would change water just in case.
