I currently have 2 angelfish in a 25 gallon tank. The tank is only about 16 inches high though, and if I remember correctly, angelfish need a tank that's about 18 inches in height.

The larger angelfish is about a year old, and is roughly about 5 inches tall from the top of it's top fin to the bottom of it's bottom fin. The smaller one is about 5 or 6 months old and roughly about 3 inches tall. What i'm wondering is: Roughly how long am I going to have until the larger angelfish becomes too big for my current tank?

I'm in the military, and was in the process of going through my Basic Training when I broke my collarbone. I'm home on sick leave now, and I planned on purchasing a larger setup for them while I was home(My mother is looking after the fish while i'm away), but the setups I wanted were a little more expensive then I thought they would be, and I was unable to get a raise on my credit card limit, so i'm not going to be able to purchase a bigger set up, and get it up and running before I return to Basic. When I go back to Basic, it could very well end up being anywhere from 8 months to a year before i'm able to get back to get a new set up purchased and up and running.

Any advice you folks might have would be greatly appreciated.

the sooner you change it the better really, i wouldnt worry too much about it if you have a taller tank but if not rather than having to buy another which is expensie and time consuming you could give up your angelfish...
if you realy want to keep em you probably can, its not entirely neccisary for your angel fish to have 18 inch tall aquariums untill they are fully grown, if you do choose to move them make it a permenant home for them you could try larger tanks of over 2 times the size of your current
