What To Choose?

Hi everyone,

Ive read quite a few of the dwarf cichlid profiles and was wondering if you can help me decide what might be a good idea to try in my tank. I have a 44 (uk) 53 (us) gal tank which currently has 2 angels, 2 platies, 1 bulldog plec and 2 japonica shrimp. I was hoping to maybe add something more interesting then your usual tropical suspects.
I like the blue/gold rams and probably know the most about them so far.
Im quite interested in these apistos i see a lot about in peoples posts.
What is their full name and is there more than 1 variety/species?

Anyone with any ideas or advise would be much appriciated

There are lots of different species of apistogramma.. google ''apistogramma'' and you should see a bunch of different kinds.

I just got my first pair of apistos.. they're pretty neat.. interesting personality packed into a little fish.

wow ive just had a quick google of the full name and theres so many

i know i can get rams from my lfs but not sure at all about apistos,
so maybe i should see whats available in my area first.....hmmmm.

When apistos first appeared around here they were like $30 a pair, and there was only 1 kind.

Now they've got 3 or 4 diff kinds, and they aren't badly priced.

I paid $12 for the pair I got. They also had pairs for $4, and ones for $16
