What To Breed Platys Or Convicts?!

hi,
i wanna breed a fish but dont know which. I am breeding mollies at the moment but i intend to breed a different

i like bettas, angelfish, discus, livebeares breeding-wise

I too would say convicts, all you need is a male and a female and some water and you will have more fry than you could ever want.

yep, and yes, they are great parents, they will defend their babies to the death.

but that does bring up one note, they can and will injure fish that get too close, I will post a pic of a cory cat that got to close and then how well they defend there fry against a Red Empress.

here is a cory cat that ventured too close to my convict fry. He is fine btw, just enough fin left to swim.

You would also need a free tank for convicts, and something to do with all the fry...(LFS's dont appreciate being given loads of them).

Maybe where you live. I supply one of the lfs with there convicts.

no i ment that i was putting them together in a breeding tank i think u must have mistakin for a birthing tank r something so yep im putting them in the same tank if i do get them

95 hagen tank, would that be ok?

if i put my net in would they try to kill the net coz there such good parents

its only the first few seconds, and this happens about once a day when the Red Empress dices to check on the convicts and they confront him like this and occasionally nip at him, but nothing big, since they both have there own territories on opposite sides of the tank.

i am planning on getting a 95 hagen tank with cabinet & i have a 30L tank for molly fry but when they grow they r goin in my 240 (its in my sig)
