Fish Gatherer
Aw, -ing hell. I've got the flu now as well. Forgive all my not-swearing, but this stress is getting to me, I can't talk! (At least my fingers still work!)
The last link was very useful. I have cured a less virulent strain with salt before, I will probably try it again if another fish goes down.
Both of the bettas that were possibly exposed are still healthy as. One of them is tending his large nest and the other is flaring at my pencil holder, which he apparently does not like. I'll leave it there to give him something to do until I can move him into a decent tank again instead of a tiny little container.
I'm glad that I'm not the first to put up with this darn strain, which seems very similar to the worst one described in the article. I really didn't want to think that something dumb I did - like pouring antibiotics down the drain when the fish died - was responsible for some foul mutant. I'm not quite desperate enough to use potassium permanganate, but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks!
I'm really hoping it all stops here and that's the end of it. 20 gal is still a healthy community. I just fed them. The next thing I'll be treating is finrot if they don't start looking what they're biting at. Bunch of pigs with fins.
