How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Is the parasite disc shaped with legs.
Hair like parasite with a fork tail is anchor worm.
Not sure which parasite the fish have by there description.
Post in tropical discussion and give a good description of the parasite, as there plenty of members
who go over that might know which parasite it is.

thanx for your help wilder
your a star :good:

oh i didnt test the ph by the way

Fish lice I will pm you.

I'm afraid her tanks severely overstocked.
The first goldfish alone needs 20 gallons then ten gallons for every other goldifsh added.
They are massive waste producers and need double the filter size to the tank.

Sterazin will not kill fish louse its not designed to kill them only to kill flukes. Interpet make a treatment called anti crustcean parasite, it works but also kills the beneficial filter bacteria. Thes best thing to use is actually a pond medication called PARAZIN P made by waterlife comes in tablet forms and normally a once off treatment kills fish louse and anchor worms. i think 25 tablets is about £6.50 ish...

does that stocking rule apply to fancys as well i thought it was just the normal goldys that need 20g's to themselves

Some say 15 gallons for one fancy goldfish then ten gallons for every other one added.
You really need to tell her 40 gallons with all the fish.
