I've got hundreds of ultra tiny (1-2mm MAX) white things floating in my aquarium. For various reasons, for the last couple of days, during the day, there has been minimum water movement in my aquarium. I noticed yesterday that there are these tiny things floating around in the water. They seem to be alive (can see them moving... changing direction abruptly, contorting from straight to bent, etc). I have some pics I took. Some of the pics show a closer view than others which show more of the quantity. Keep in mind that the largest of these things are 2mm or less. Here are the pics:

I think they are planaria.

They aren't harmful to your fish, but are an indication of overfeeding. Just stop feeding the fish for 3 days or so, and they should be gone

P.T.

Planarians are flat worms that in my experince slide about on the glass and other solid things, not free swimming/floating.

Some kind of copepod?

i have some in my tank too, i was told by my lfs to stop feeding fish for few days and if they don't disapear to let them be. i have fry in part of my tank and they eat them. they are not harmfull, just enoying.

they still could be planaria, when i had some in one of my tanks alot swam freely as well as on thhe glass

Hmmmmm.... not sure. I had seen info about planaria but these are STRICTLY in the water column... have not seen one on the glass. I'm feeding very little, if anything for the past couple of days. Will see if they disappear or not.
