Hi, I will be buying a tank in the near future to have on my desk. i've been looking at the Fluval Edge but have read a few topics about it on here and they tend to mention that it isn't too good of a tank (too small) i have a budget of around £100 for the tank, filter and heater and am looking for a small-medium sized tank to keep a 'school' of small fish in e.g. neons. anyone have any experience with keeping a small gang of fish in a fluval edge? it looks like a very nice tank and all built-in

thanks for any help :) :good:

The edge is not a good tank. It is very hard to clean and I have heard there are design flaws with the filter/hood setup?

They do look neat though, and with enough patience you could make it work, however; I would not suggest you get this tank.

You will find that a tank where the entire surface area of the water is open to the atmosphere is WAY more user friendly.

Thanks for the advice. i will steer clear of an edge then! :good:

If your on a tight budget I would recommend looking at the local classifieds for a second hand tank. I picked up a 200 Litre with heater and filter for less than £100

have just bought an edge to sit on my desk at home, and i think it is a great little tank if you are lacking space. I have not cycled the tank yet and cannot give you any real feedback on it yet but i was advised to also consider an Arc tank, which at 35 litres is almost 1/3 larger than the edge, but the base dimensions are very similar. This would give you the same sort of space budget but witha capacity for more fish/plants etc. You should consider that this might weigh quite a bit tho so make sure your desk is sturdy. Also the Arc is around 55-60 quid, so cheaper than the edge.
